Sentinel Meeting Roundup:
Post-Execution Ratification of Contracts: The Board voted to approve all contracts as shown below:
Veterans Month Resolution: The Board approved the resolution recognizing the month of July as Ottawa County Veterans Month.
Grand Haven Dunes Open Space: The Board approved the Grand Haven Dunes Memorandum of Understanding and authorized the Parks Director to fulfill the intent of the Board in these matters.

Webex Calling and Customer Assist: The Board approved the contract with Sentinel Technologies for Cisco Webex Calling and Customer Assist at a 6-year total cost of $780,665.
Patagonia Health EHR: The Board approved the contract with Patagonia Health to renew the subscription for electronic health record software for 3 years at a total cost of $271,000.00.
Materials Management Planning Grant: The Board approved the grant agreement for Materials Management Planning with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.
FY2026 MDOC Plan and Application: The Board approved the resolution accepting the Fiscal Year 2026 Michigan Department of Corrections Plan and Application.
Clerk/Register Position Upgrade Request: The Board approved the request from the Clerk/Register of Deeds Office to upgrade one Case Records Technician I position at pay grade 3 to a Case Records Technician IV-D at pay grade 4
FY2025 Budget Adjustments: The Board approved the FY2025 budget adjustments from the Finance Committee:
Corporate Counsel Contingency: The Board voted to approve Corporate Counsel Contingency item for $28,000.
Although I am concerned about the continued cost for this legal action, I did vote yes so that we can see this effort through to its hopefully quick conclusion.
Materials Management Planning Grant Personnel Request: The Board approved the request from Public Health to convert 1.0 FTE benefited Environmental Public Health Technician to a full-time, benefited Environmental Public Health Specialist in the AFSCME PH Group at Paygrade 8 at an increased cost of $12,607.20; to create 1.0 FTE benefited Environmental Public Health Specialist in the AFSCME PH Group at Paygrade 8 at an increased cost of $108,018.85; and to create one part-time temporary limited-benefit Environmental Public Health Technician in the Limited Benefit Group at an increased cost of $23,677.12.
Administrator Search Discussion: Ottawa County is temporarily pausing its search for a new County Administrator for the summer, with plans to reopen the application process in August and select a candidate in late September. Applicants who have already submitted materials and remain interested will continue to be considered.
I had expressed a desire to pursue a Deputy Administrator hire in the interim, prior to hiring a Administrator, as I believe that it may very well be an easier task for the Board. In addition, I expressed a preference for an internal hire both for the Deputy as well as the Administrator position itself.
